Catering Temps provides a platform connecting self-employed chefs with businesses requiring temporary or permanent culinary staff. We facilitate introductions between Chefs and Clients but do not employ the Chefs directly.

3. Chef Terms

3.1 Self-Employment Status

Chefs registered on our platform operate as self-employed independent contractors. Chefs are not employees of Catering Temps. This means:

  • You are responsible for registering with HMRC for Self Assessment
  • You must pay your own Income Tax and National Insurance contributions
  • You are responsible for filing your annual tax returns
  • Catering Temps will not deduct tax at source from your payments
  • You should maintain your own professional indemnity insurance

3.2 Chef Obligations

As a registered Chef, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate information during registration
  • Hold a valid Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 2 minimum)
  • Have the legal right to work in the United Kingdom
  • Attend assignments on time and appropriately dressed
  • Conduct yourself professionally at all times
  • Notify us immediately if you cannot attend a confirmed assignment
  • Not contact Clients directly to arrange work outside of our platform

3.3 Payment to Chefs

Payment terms will be specified for each assignment. Chefs will receive payment for completed work as agreed. It is the Chef's responsibility to invoice correctly and maintain records for tax purposes.

4. Client/Business Terms

4.1 Booking Process

Clients submit job requests through our platform. Catering Temps reviews submissions and matches suitable Chefs to opportunities. Clients will be notified when a Chef has been assigned.

4.2 Client Obligations

As a Client, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate job details including location, times, and requirements
  • Ensure a safe working environment for Chefs
  • Pay invoices within the agreed payment terms
  • Notify us of any issues with Chef performance promptly
  • Not engage Chefs directly outside of our platform for 6 months after introduction

4.3 Fees and Payment

Clients will be charged at the agreed hourly rate plus any applicable service fees. Invoices are payable within 14 days unless otherwise agreed. Late payments may incur interest charges.

5. Cancellation Policy

Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the assignment start time may be subject to cancellation fees. Repeated cancellations may result in account suspension.

6. Liability

Catering Temps acts as an introduction agency and accepts no liability for the performance of Chefs or for any loss or damage arising from assignments. Chefs operate as independent contractors and are responsible for their own work.

Our liability to you is limited to the fees paid for the relevant service.

7. Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms, behave unprofessionally, or provide false information.

8. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
